Our Coaches' Profiles

Seniors - Tiffany Drew

Tiffany has competed in calisthenics for 30 years.

During her career she attained great results in all levels exams and medals, up to Gold Medal with Honours Stage Performance.

As a senior she has competed in solos (RSSS Ballarat Most Graceful Competition for 10 years – achieving 3 awards) and represented Victoria in the State Team 7 times.

A highlight of Tiffany’s solo career was winning the 2000 National Title in the Senior Graceful Girl competition.

Tiffany commenced coaching in 1993 and in 1996 opened Kilvington Calisthenics College (non competitive).  5 years later she took on the Chadstone competitive sub-juniors coaching role as well.

Tiffany closed Kilvington CC in 2001 and many of the members of the club moved over to Chadstone.

Since commencing her coaching at Chadstone Tiffany has coached the sub-junior and Junior sections prior to taking on the Seniors.

Tiffany has been the Chadstone Seniors Coach since 2004 (and has been known to compete in the team each year since attempting  retirement from competing in 2006).



Intermediates- Katrina Slifka

Katie has been involved in calisthenics for 24 years - she competed at Championship level for 17 years before retiring for four years in 2000. Katie then  recommenced her career in 2004 with Chadstone Seniors for another 7 years.  She attained very good results throughout her Levels exams and has competed in solos for many years.

Katie was a member of two Victorian State Teams and also represented Victoria in the Nationals in her Graceful Girl Solo.

Katie realised she'd love to become a qualified coach after helping the Chadstone Sub-Juniors in 2007 and moved onto helping the Intermediates in 2008.  She achieved her Level 1 accrediation in 2009, where she assisted the Intermediates that year and assisted Chadsone Seniors in 2010.

 

 


Juniors - Melanie Cousin

Melanie has competed in Calisthenics for the past 22 years.

During that time she has competed in solos (RSSS Ballarat Most Graceful Competition on 5 occasions to date) and represented Victoria 4 times.

Melanie has been involved in the coaching of calisthenics for the last 9 years obtaining her Level 1 Coach Accreditation during this time.

As well as being a competitor and team coach Melanie also finds the time to help with Pupil Skills and the Active Afterschool Calisthenics Program.

2009 saw Melanie take on the Sub Juniors section for Chadstone having assisted for the previous 4 years.

 

 


Sub-Juniors - Whitney Sharpe

Whitney has competed in calisthenics for the past 16 years. During this time she has competed for Chadstone as an Inter and Senior.

She has gained good results in her Levels exams and has competed in both graceful and physical solo competitions. Her greatest achievement in physical solos was winning CVI and moving up to the 17 years and over open section.

 

Whitney has been helping with the Chadstone Juniors section for the past 5 years. She gained her Level 1 Coaching Qualification in 2011. She enjoys working with children and helping them to achieve their goals. 


Tinies - Jessica Lockhart

Jessica been a member of Chadstone since starting in 1994 as a very young Subbie. 

Jessica began helping with the younger sections of the club in 2001 and gained her level 1 qualifications in 2006. Since then she has assisted in all sections of the club from Tinies to Intermediates, coached levels, solos and duos and has run parts of our summer school.

Jessica is passionate about all children being given the opportunity to grow as a performer and as an individual, to feel valuable to their team and their club and to have lots of laughs along the way.

2012 will be Jessica's 18th year as a competitor for the Chadstone.
